Don't want to get anxiety over this but, I need reassurance

I have had my blood glucose tested as late as last summer and I was fine. My mother is diabetic. I am getting better with my anxiety. I have been on Cymbalta for 2 weeks now. I know it is helping because I took my daughter to the dentist about an hour away from here and made it there and back. Much of my anxiety is from driving. However, with my anxiety expected, I didn't eat anything, nothing for breakfast or lunch. I ate a hamburger and fries from Dairy Queen around 5 hours ago. About 20 minutes ago I started feeling light headed and weird. I took my blood sugar and it was 62. I ate a couple of cookies and a couple of chicken nuggets and I feel better now, but my blood sugar has never been that low.

I get that sometimes too. I have hypoglycemia that comes and goes but eating a healthier diet keeps it at bay. I do not have diabetes but it runs in my family so I keep an eye on it.

I have more of a "reactive" hypoglycemia which means when I eat or drink something too loaded with sugar or empty carbs, it will make me crash within an hour or so. Then I have to grap something to stabalize it again. Since losing weight it has all but gone away but that is also because I changed my diet lots too.

I think everyone gets it once in awhile. My mother has it like alvaa, where if she doesn't eat her sugar will drop and she has to grab something real quick. Just keep an eye on it, if it happens again, evaluate your eating habits from the day of and see if you missed a meal or ate something with too much sugar. Talk to your doc if you find it happening more often.

I just wonder if I should be concerned about it when it has happened just this one time. I took my sugar again right before I went to bed and it was back up to 90.

I am not a doctor but I do suffer from hypoglycemia where if I don't eat I get dizzy and feel like I am going to pass out.

I have had this since I was a teen and am not diabetic at all and after years of only eating 2 tiny bits of food a day, of course to lose weight as teens are prone to doing, I learned that 7 protein meals a day kept my blood sugar running nice and smooth.  They don't have to be full meals with gravy and potatoes, it can be just high protein snacks, a small hamburger, a peanut butter sandwich, some hard boiled eggs, a high protein drink,
but if your blood sugar does not drop too hard, it is easier to keep it at an even number....I also lost more then 100 lbs using this way of eating and still do today.  Because of my hypoglycemia, sugar and I do not get along.  Sugar will drop me faster then anything on the planet and that includes sugar drinks like coke and pepsi.  You can look up" hypoglycemia non diabetic" on google and there are alot of food plans you can choose from...

Good luck to you
