Muscle Twitching & Anxiety?

Is it possible to experience muscle twitching as a symptom of anxiety? I've been feeling some weird sensations in my head kinda like electrical zaps and then the twitching starts. It isn't a consant thing. Sometimes its in my foot or my calf. Then my chest which really freaks me out. Muscles in my mid back keep twitching/pushing. I dont know if this is something more than anxiety or not. I have no insurance and my next doctor appointment isnt until May 8th. The ER doesnt really do anything since they've realized I have anxiety. Can anybody help me?!

THANKS! I am currently on the DASH diet to prevent high blood pressure. But I will closely follow your other tips. Hopefully they'll bring me some relief. I really do appreciate your advice!

Thanks for telling me about anxiety centre. I took a couple tests on there and was amazed how high my stress and anxiety levels were.

Im going to hold off on the ER visit because I already owe thousands of dollars due to my most recent visits.  Your post was really helpful and Im glad to have befreinded you on here.

Hey Beautiful_Diaster.
Welcome to the forum.
No one, not even a doctor can answer this question with certainty.
Yes, it is possible.
There are things you can safely do on your own for now.
1. Make sure you are eating well balanced nutritious meals (fresh salads and fruits, whole grains and vegetables, fish, legumes, some dairy, chicken and red meat and NO junk food,no sodas,no sweets. Drink plenty of spring water 1 hour away from meals.
2. Go to the normal breathing website and learn how to breathe properly.
Seriously, incorrect breathing can bring about illness, including anxiety!
3. Stay physically active EVERY day. Exercise without overexerting yourself.
4. Meditate (buy meditation CDs if unable to meditate) every night!
5. Connect with nature. Trees, parks, camping, pets, hikes, gardening etc.
6. Take Epsom salt baths. Relaxing, soothing and you get much needed Magnesium which helps with many things including muscle twitching and anxiety-if you are Mg deficient.
7. Limit your exposure to electro-magnetic pollution. less computers, cell phones, tv, etc.
8. Read inspirational  and empowering books. Listen to HayHouse Radio online. It's free! And it is great!
9. Do tapping. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Search for free EFT
manual for basic application.
10. Have an attitude of gratitude!!
Let me know if you need more details.
Cheers!

Hi hun..

With my researching anxiety I have come across the mind/head zaps aa symptom of anxiety with muscle twitches also have you look at a web sure called anxiety centre it has all the symptoms of anxiety on there listed in casuistry categories it helped me alot to see this site..

But I'm no dr so I don't want to say for sure yes it us anxiety it just sounds to me like it is..

And if that er won't help go to a different one and don't tell them about the anxiety.. Atleast that's what I would do if it were me and I was worried..

I'm sorry you ares dealing with this I know how hard it is to have something wrong and worry about it..

Keep me posted if you look up the site and if you get checked out.. Hope you start to feel better hun.. You could message me if you need to chat..
