Feeling of dread

What is this constant feeling of dread that I am feeling all the time?    I have anxeity I know that, but this is insane.  I have been staying with my grandmother for the past couple months because I am literally afraid of being at my own home by msyelf alone.   I am moving to a new place at the end of the month, and now everything is getting worse because I know I am going to have to move out again, and be alone again.   All I think about is this, and it is consuming me slowly.

Just keep at it.  You are doing the right thing.  I am glad that you have the VA as a resource.  I have used them upon returning from a couple of deployments and over the years they have gotten much better in their level of care in my experience.  You are definitely not alone with this and you are being proactive and have started to take the steps to confront it in my opinion.

thanks everyone, I created a new profile,    yea I can have a pet at my new place so I will look into that, and I do keep a journal.  I am seeing a psychiatrist and psychotherapist right now.  The psychiatrist thinks i have bipolar disorder but I never have ups or downs, so i dont know.  I am going to get a second opinion at the VA and ill see what they say.  I just have to remind myself like you guys said i am not alone, and it will get better with time eventually.  I am also having my brother moving in with me

Coping and dealing with anxiety can bring all sorts of feelings and symptoms in my experience with it.  There was a time when I was afraid to even leave my house....fear and anxiousness about these types of things are common in my opinion.  I had a constant feeling of dread...anxiety takes its toll on us both mentally and physically and it can wear us down.  Are you seeing a counselor right now?  For me, one on one or group counseling really helped me put things into perspective.  One, it showed me that many people go through this...which of course to me was a great help because we can feel so isolated at times when dealing with this.  Second, I could learn to confront the anxitety and create a path to dealing wtih it effectively.  Remember, anxieity does have its ups and downs and can be extremely challenging to confront, but remind yourself you are going to get through it and that you are not alone with this...keep us posted!

Many of us that have anxiety know exactly what you're talking about. I so agree with the above poster. Get a pet if possible. We have a Boston that travels with my husband and I have 2 little Chihuahua's that stay with me all the time. They are a huge comfort. If your new place does'nt allow pets would it be possible to have a room mate?

Can you have a pet in your new place? Sometimes being alone can be a catalyst to growth...it's okay to have it out with your inner thoughts. Do you keep a journal? That's great company, too.
