ekg and ecg cam up

ekg: Based on your visit today, the exact cause of chest pain in not certain doesnt  seem to be serious and your pain does not appreat to be comming from your heart. (GOOD THING)

but I am worried about this:

ECG: Sinus rythem with short pr
the guy seems to think it is an abnormality in the heart. WPW wolf parkinson white <-- you are born with this and I have been to the er many times with what they cal heart Palps, could this mis diagnoses be just from stress??? I get horrified from it. first test they did my heart was short pr aVR normal, V4 abnormal just one tiny abnormal rythem mark then

aVL V2 V5 all normal

aVF V3 V6 normal

I am having panic attacks about it but the er staff says it might be due to panic attacks and I should still go to a cardio dr. I guess I will be going not next week but Monday after that. so hopefully everything is fine

Yeah, none of mine are like those. I was figuring it must be the hormone inbalance.
I wish I had medical but wont have it till January. I dont work either so my boyfriend is the only one with income which also really *****!!!!! so I just can't afford anything at the moment, medical wise. I also notice I feel odd after i sit on this damn laptop for hours on end. I have been cutting back the time on here to about 1 hour or 2 but split apart. >.<

I think maybe I could call and ask. I know that they did an x-ray of my chest and told me the chest pain was not heart related. I am hoping this is just panic attacks from the loss and hormones. if it is they will eventually leave like they always do.

right now I am fed up with the odd feelings I have been getting everyday around the same time. and I hate feeling afraid to leave the house because it triggers me to feel paniced, racing heart, feeling pulled down (maybe dizzy? i cant explain it) and frikkin shortness of breathe followed by tingling hands. it is like I am afraid to feel pulled down. usually they last for 30 mins but i notice the more I think of it the longer the panics stay around.

I have a good cardio dr, I found so maybe they could tell me prices and ****.

My episodes of WPW were kind weird.

I would get short of breath, I would feel weak, and sort of get tunnel vision. I would feel my pulse and it would be in the stratosphere. So much so that I couldn't reliably get a feel reading off of it. Normally I would end up sitting down, and it would go away after about 5 minutes at most (except for the time at Six Flags when it persisted).

I am not sure another EKG would be completely necessary. Just having a cardiologist look at the other one might be enough, but if you did get another one I would suggest having it done by a cardiologist. You could then have him compare the two, and just getting his opinion is probably the most important.

I do, however, know what you mean about not having the money to get all sorts of tests done. By the sounds of your symptoms they seem to more than likely just be anxiety related especially if they persist for hours or days. I would see if you could just get a cardio to look at your previous EKG so he could tell you more, but those symptoms seem ALOT like anxiety.

Common symptoms of anxiety. Regulating you hormones will be hard work, there's no easy way.

Physical activity ( ask you doctor if cardiovascular workout if safe for you and what is your limit )
Healthy diet
Relaxation
Hobbies

And if you are suffering from a depression/anxiety maybe an anti-depressant will be needed like a SSRI or SNRI try looking that up on google or write me a private message. I already told much about these in my previous post if you wanna check it out.

Consult your doctor and the 400$ ECG might not be needed but i am not a doctor and only a doctor will tell you what is good for you but you have my opinion.

I have had WPW. I never knew it until I had a really bad episode while at Six Flags. I just assumed the episodes I had been having were just from me playing too hard since they always came up during sports.

I have also heard that sometimes it won't show up on an EKG because it is not currently "active". If I were you I would try and see a cardiologist. My heart rate got up over 300bpm while at Six Flags which is very very dangerous. Just because you don't think you have a heart defect doesn't mean you can't have one. No one in my family has had WPW and they say it is hereditary. I am just saying it is better to be safe than sorry.

If I get too concerned I will just make an appointment, as far as I know no one in my family has heart problems. I also notice my symptoms only appear when i get worked up or think about things.

You can have more tests to ask if you want lemme tell you about the possible option·

Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) ( i think you might even redo this test since you have done it if you are really worried )

· Holter monitor: A Holter monitor records a continuous EKG rhythm pattern (rarely a full EKG) for 24 hours or more. These monitors are used for suspected frequent rhythm abnormalities, especially ones the wearer may not recognize by symptoms. They are more expensive than event monitors.

· Event monitor: An Event monitor records short term EKG rhythm patterns, generally storing the last 2 to 5 minutes, adding in new and discarding old data, for 1 to 2 weeks or more.

· Cardiac stress testing: Cardiac stress testing is used to determine to assess cardiac function and to disclose evidence of exertion-related cardiac hypoxia

· Electrophysiology study: The electrophysiology study or EP study is the end all of eletrophysiolgy test of the heart. It involves a catheter with electrodes probing the endocardium, the inside of the heart, and testing the conduction pathways and electrical activity of individual areas of the heart.

You can also have some imaging do.

· Coronary catheterization
· Echocardiogram
· Intravascular ultrasound
· Positron emission tomography
· Computed Tomography Angiography
· Magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI )

I hope this will help but i also hope you won't do all those test if the problem is really anxiety since it could be really expansive hehe. Tell your doctor.

Remember, that ECGs can 'overly' misdiagnosis many problems.  I actually had my physical a couple of weeks ago, and the machine spit out that I had had a prior heart attack.  My GP said he really wasn't that concerned but I was referred to the cardiologist just in case and then that ECG had said possible LVH and some heart disease but again the doc said that he was not concerned because I have run long distance for about 15 years now and the Stress Test confirmed that I had no problems under exertion and basically just had a strong and effecient heart from all the years of running.

Sorry to ramble on, but my point is, just don't get too worked up early on in this process. Get the applicable tests, but believe your doctors once they are done...keep us posted!

For 20$ and a visit to a doctor that would be kind enough to give you a prescription you could try a benzo like Brozamepam and if it releive all your symptoms than maybe you can tell yourself its anxiety... I don't know much to suggest to someone without the money or insrance o get tested... I get very frustrated when i hear people can't have good health care because of money... Just like if life was a bank... Come live in Canada lol we have free medical insurances... lol

hmmmmmmm, interesting how I went to an er a week before and they took my vitals, heart rate and it came up normal besides the palp. I was never born with any heart deffects. If I was I would have known a bout it in the past when I went to the drs.

They said stress can cause it to do that aswell, seems to have one abnormal mark on it. everything else is a ok! dr even wrote on the abnormal mark with WPW? cause he isnt sure what it is, he also said it it most likely due to panic attacks but to get checked...THIS IS THE SAME HOSPITAL that kept my sister for 3 days testing for blood clots when she kept comming out negitive. She says not to worry because they sometimes mis diagnose all the time there.

I am going to the cardio dr though, gonna call them at 3 and get an appointment in

Helle there,

WPW syndrome is commonly diagnosed on the basis of the surface ECG. It is manifested as a delta wave, which is a slurred upstroke in the QRS complex that is associated with a short PR interval. The short PR interval and slurring of the QRS complex is actually the impulse making it through to the ventricles prematurely (across the accessory pathway) without the usual delay experienced in the AV node.

Personally i think the diagnosis is correct and stress and anxiety may jus make the condition seems worse. Have you talked to your doctor about your stress before the tests? I think it is really important to let know the doctor everything about you before such kind of tests since a lot of factors can give false result such as cigarette withdrawal, stree and anxiety or basicly any drug withdrawal.

Next time be sure to mention everything you know about your current condition to your doctor so he can take that in account and tell you if it can influence the results.

Best regards,
M4
