I need urgent advice

So I'm crying my eyes out right now. Tomorrow is the most stressful day of my life, I've been waiting for it for over a year. I'm taking my LSAT test to get into law school. One of the reasons I decided to go on medication for my anxiety/depression was because everytime I tried to study to prepare for the test I would get confused, panic attacks..so I knew I had to help myself.

But after being on effexor for 4 months didn't help, I switched to Wellburtin which I've only been on for a week. I'm thinking I should have never even gotten on it, and tried the medication once I was done my test.

I am having serious side affects like nausea, dizziness and I am getting a fever. There's no way I can miss this exam tomorrow, so I am wondering if you guys think I should skip my pill for today and tomorrow? Will that help take the side affects away or make it worse? Right now I can't even think about writing an exam feeling so sick, and this is a timed- standardized test that I have sacrificed so much for. What should I do?

(btw postponing the test is not possible. I already have one absense because my anxiety was bothering me when I was supposed to take it in October. December 11th is the last chance I have to take it, and if I don't show up I get a 0 on my application)

it went terribly, I could barely keep my head up. But surprisingly I didn't even care when I was done that I did bad. I know the Law is my passion, but I have realized that I desperately need to treat my anxiety/depression first because it's taking over my life.

ps: 3 people got dismissed because they looked at their cell phones during break...Like they say, there is always someone worse off than you.

By the way, you CAN reschedule, you say it's not possible but it is.  You just don't have to go to law school until you have taken and passed an LSAT.  In other words, so what if you put out an application, write to them and say you've decided to postpone law school for a year.

Seriously, if you are having to medicate yourself for life anxiety, you should reconsider your life, not up your meds.

You could reschedule for the next LSAT.  If you think this is bad, wait until law school exams.  Your entire course grade depends on one test at term end.  If you're having a bad day then, you'll have to have a note from the hospital saying you've been admitted, or you'll get an F.

Why don't you study something else?  There are a ton of unhappy lawyers who wish they had.  The law is a business where almost everyone you deal with is in distress, and the other lawyers (even the nice ones) are out to get you.  Why not geology or art history?  The world will not miss one less lawyer and your life might be a ton more happy if you went a different way.

Thanks so much for the advice. But my psych prescribed me xanax in the past, and when he tried it again, it didn't work for me. So now he said he'll try a different family of fast acting medication and prescribed me Clonazepam. I've been taking one tablet twice daily with the Wellburtin, but I don't feel the affects of it either. So that's why I'm wondering if I should take it tomorrow morning before the exam. I'm allowed to bring medication into the exam but if it's not doing anything for me I don't know what's the use.

Is there any other kind of fast acting medication? I think I'm going to go to emerg right now because I'm feeling way too sick, and also my psychiatrist works at the emerg.

Continue with your medication and call your doctor about getting a fast acting anxiety medication like Xanax to get you thru this.  Anxiety will not cause a fever, so you may be coming down with a bug.  Your doctor needs to make the decision on this, so call him ASAP and ask his advice on the side effects of the medication, which may just be your body adjusting to the medication, but Wellbutrin is also a stimulating antidepressant. Explain to him that you need something to work right away for your exam tomorrow. He should understand and be able to call you in a script for a few Xanax.  Good lucxk and take care!
