Ask yourself, are you actually not getting a full breath or do you just feel like you're not getting a full breath? If you were short of breath, you would be feeling more in the rest of your body and in your sleep and in your exercise -- you'd be having difficulty doing things. Sometimes anxious people will feel like something is happening when it isn't because that's what anxiety feels like, and other people do things like hyperventilate when they have a panic attack. One thing to try if you haven't learned it yet is abdominal breathing, which you can learn from a yoga instructor or any practicing Buddhist or Hindu or Taoist or from those who treat anxiety. If you can deep breathe, it will slow down this feeling at least for awhile -- you might just be breathing too shallowly because you're nervous, not really that you're short of breath. One way to check this is, how are your energy levels? Having a hard time getting one's breath feels like you're having a hard time with it, as when you run for a long time. As I say, it is something you feel.
