Final Hurdle

I had a sudden onset of aniexty about 5 months ago, , never suffered from it befor, i am 49yo, male, healthy.   At first didnt know what was happening, , did all the test, , everything came back clean,  was told if was aniexty.    May, JUne july were bad, , started to get better in august and september, , some bad day but more good.  I m at the point now where i had 2 weeks good, , 2 days bad.  Is there anything i can do do get over this final hurdle and get my old self back ?  Psycologist ive been seeing says "stay the course" and give it more time, , although it seems like a long time, , its only been 5 months.  I am on .25 Ativan in the AM each day and want to get off that all together if possible.  Any hints or advice would be appreciated.   Everyone Stay strong !

Has she taught you anything about how you think?  Has she taught you relaxation techniques, such as meditation?  This will tell you if she specializes in anxiety treatment.  But basically, if you're doing better and better, she's right -- it takes work and time and you're getting there.

Just remember to keep trying and keep pushing yourself to go back to the old you. Take it one day at a time. Each day take one thing that gives you anxiety and focus on that. You are the only one who can get rid of the anxiety and will power is amazing
