I experienced these symptoms as well when i had generalized anxiety disorder. I know how you guys are feeling. What helped me the most was to stop thinking about how was i feeling. I know its not that easy, but you must learn to do it. I experienced derealization and depersonalization both were absolutely horrific but i assure you that it will go away. I will give you some tips on how i cured my anxiety. First things first, you are not ill, there is nothing wrong with you. All you have done is created a cycle, or ritual of anxious thoughts. You experience a symptom, lets call them sensations because the word symptom implies that you are ill and you are not. So you experience a sensation of anxiety lets say depersonalization this begins the cycle. You ask yourself why you feel like this and boom the cycle starts, you all know this. What you need to do is stop this cycle at the very beginning. So you start feeling a little off and realize you are experiencing depersonalization. As soon as that happens you start to get anxious. What you need to do is just ignore it (easier said than done i know) but you know it can not harm you so why give it any credit, just simply pay no attention to it. People with anxiety, including myself when i had it, obsess over how they feel. You must stop doing this. You have to stop trying to find a way out you this condition, trying to find the person you were before your anxiety will only make things worse. The best way to find something is to stop looking for it. hope this helps and if you need anything else let me know i would be glad to help,
Jake774, yes it does go away at times like right now I'm pretty clear headed. Although I took 1 mg of Ativan about an hour ago haha.
Cognitivekid, everything looks foggy or hazy for me too when it comes on
i think i have the same thing... i can do things just fine but it doesnt feel or look normal, everything is all foggy and it makes me scared and anxious aswell... its been going on for about nine months for me now
You are experiencing depersonalazation. I also have it so bad that all I want to do is sleep. Does it get better at times?
I'm wondering why your Dr upped your meds and also added Abilify at the same time. I would think he would want to see if the Celexa increase worked before adding another med. You've only been on the new dose and new med for two weeks so you can wait to see if it gets better or talk to your Dr about quitting the Abilify. Remar
