Hello foxy. I see you are still having difficulties with your taper. Why the doctor on call will not help you is just bad "doctoring" in my book. If he is filling in for your doctor, then he has every right to change things as he sees fit. That he apparently ignored your distress is unacceptable! Please call a pharmacist and explain to him/her what you are going through. They cannot CHANGE your dosage, but they CAN advise you to go back to a higher dose, TEMPORAIRILY.........IF your prescription clearly states that your doc prescribed that dose for you. And they will also tell you that you MUST see your doctor as soon as possible to discuss your problems with your w/d.
Since you have been having this problem for quite some time, I wish you had taken my previous advice and sought out another doctor, one more attuned to the problems of w/d from these types of drugs. That is STILL my advice. You should NOT be having this much trouble. Withdrawing will always bring on a certain amount of discomfort, but it is a finite situation, it HAS an ending. A qualified doctor will see to it that that discomfort is as minimal as possible. I don't think you are getting good care with your present duo of docs.
If you have a mental health clinic in your area, I would look into talking to someone there. They can probably help you find the right doctor for you so you can get off this roller coaster you seem stuck on.
Ryan has posted to this very issue many times in the past. If you go up to the right hand corner of this page, you will see a box that says "MedHelp Search." Type in the word Xanax or Klonopin, or even both and it should bring up every post he has written on the subject, including the correct way to withdraw from these meds.
Peace

i can be really hard getting off these meds. i've quit xanax twice and it was no fun at all. i had headaches and tingling also. do you think your tapering too fast maybe? your pulse is high, at rest it should be around 75. this i'm pretty sure is from tapering. i would ask Ryan about this, i've seen him post to many people about how to taper off their meds. hang in there, it sounds to me like your body is not handling the taper well and maybe your going to fast. take care. remar
