anxiety? please help

I've smoked for a few years one day had a panic attack and since I just haven't felt right I've put the drug down and went to my doctor. I told him that I had pressure and he drained my ears and the pressure went away but I feel like I'm in a fog all the time I feel once I do something it was hours ago that I did it. And I feel like I'm overthining everything. I went to the emergency room cause I felt like I was going to pass out in a store. They did a cat scan of my brain a chest xray and took blood also had a ekg . everything came back negative only thing they said was I have a heart arrethmia. Then I went back to my doctor and he told me to get a MRI with and without contrast and that also came back negative. Could I be doing this to myself I've never experienced anything like this but I've had like every test done under the sun and I'm still scared can anyone please help?

Marijuana tends to bring out of us what's inside, and for many their first anxiety attack happens when stoned.  It happened to me, it's happened to more people than I can count just on this site.  But I don't think it's the drug still affecting you since you did the smart thing and stopped -- stopping didn't stop the anxiety attacks for me because I don't think it started them, it just brought them out, in my opinion.  So what you're feeling is the same as anyone who has a panic attack and has a tendency to chronic anxiety -- the attack conditions you to expect another and so you have growing anxiety.  The first intervention to do isn't medication, it's seeing a therapist and seeing if you can interrupt this conditioned thinking, preferably one who specializes in anxiety treatment such as a CBT specialist.  Only if nothing else works would I get on the medication merry-go-round; it isn't going anywhere if you need it.

I definitely think it is your anxiety due to the drug.  I don't want to tell you my symptoms b/c then you might start to feel that way.  It was very scary.  You could see your general internist and he may just prescribe a very low dose of Xanax to start and see if that helps.  You don't have to suffer if it keeps happening.  Try and do some research on it through google too and you will see a lot of other people have had a similar experience.  You're going to be ok but you need to talk to another doctor.  I am not a doctor but I honestly think this has to do with the drug and that there is nothing wrong with your heart or your memory.  It's all related to the stress and anxiety... imho.

It took me a year of struggling with very intense symptoms.  It eventually led to a deep depression.  I didn't think I was ever going to feel normal again... in all sincerity.  That is when I finally found a clinical trial.  They put me on a placebo and it did nothing.  Finally they found a medication that would help on the first try.  The medication gave me my life back.  Back then, anxiety was more taboo and not understood as much with the medications, etc.  I wish you the best of luck.  If you're symptoms continue to get worse, please see a doctor and know there is help out there.

Thank you so much I thought I was the only one. Just hearing this makes me feel better. Its been about a month of me experiencing this it was right after smoking I had a attack and it just hasn't seemed to go away but haven't touched the stuff after and I am also donedone smoking for good I just keep telling myself after all the testing if something was really wrong it would have showed up on one of them. How long did it take to get back to normal? The only thing my tests showed was I have heart arrethmia and I'm low on D3 and b12

I didn't want to assume this but that is what I thought.  The same thing happened to me many years ago and I never touched the stuff again.  No one believed me, at the time, that it could be from that but it was and there are a lot of other people who are experiencing the same thing.  I was having flashbacks but also experiencing a lot of depersonalization and derealization and also many other symptoms.  I actually ended up at an ENT too but finally found a doctor who recognized it as anxiety and gad. I believe that is what you are experiencing.  Try not to let it get any worse.  Meaning don't feed the fear.  Hopefully if you accept it as just anxiety and that the feelings will pass, you will be able to overcome it without medication.  There is another forum you might want to check out... not sure if I can post it here but it's anxietyforum.net and a few people there have also experienced this as well.  I hope this helps you and don't be afraid to consult with a therapist b/c the meds will help tremendously if you feel you need them.   Good luck and keep us posted.
