good start. Maybe finding a small yoga group...focusing on meditation and slow yoga movements will help. My daughter cautioned (when I told her I was suggesting yoga here) to research carefully before going to a class. Just in case it is an issue. neither my daughter or myself are yoga thin! :)
my mindfulness cd does have a yoga trac. i pulled my neck once and haven't used it much, i think i will try it again
thank you, with cbt and minfulness practice i have learned things i honestly did not know like that it is my CHOICE where to focus my awareness. sounds simple but i didn't know so my mind would be random and i felt helpless to stop it. that was a huge aha moment for me and through practice am making great gains. I have also learned to not say NO but to let the thoughts float while i ground myself in the now. in my mind i sort of divide my mind in two, the thoughts above and the now below, when i find myself lost in thought, i squeeze in below the thoughts and ground in mindfulness, probably sounds wacky but it works for me to a point except this dizzy crud. i start feeling like im going down and all my learning flies out the window :) thank you so much for your response and support
Are you doing yoga as well?? My daughter has had lots of anxiety (I think she was born with it) and found yoga. She teaches it now and credits it for helping her deal with the anxiety. She does sumatva, but there are many that might help!
That is so great that you've come this far with your anxiety! Dizziness is very common with anxiety. I get it myself when my stress level is very high. Are you working on breathing exercises? That might help. I think all of us that have anxiety are worried that someone will see us, witnessing what we're going through. That can make our anxiety even worse, as you already know. Try to hang in there. It sounds like your doing great! Hopefully the dizziness will go away when you get your anxiety more under control.
