Hugs to you mslyles.  I know that you are afraid.  Believe me, I know that you are afraid.  And I know fear too.  It's not pleasant.  It's hard to explain to anyone the level of terror that you can feel and how it consumes you and makes you believe things that aren't true.  First of all, congratulations on taking that first step.  Try to keep in mind that you are taking a positive step to stop this anxiety.  And secondly, good for you that all your tests came back OK.  Now, comes the hard part.  Because this anxiety is a disorder of the brain and because researchers don't know a heck of a lot about the brain ~ thought they are learning more every day, it's not so easy to cure.  Here is what I can tell you works for me.  Try this and see if it works for you, OK?  First step.  Is there ever a time when you can get a break from your kids?  Are they all at school?  At bedtime when they are all asleep?  Whenever that time comes, and you can be uninteruppted for a little while, and have the knowledge that your kids are safe without you for a few minutes, I want you to go somewhere quiet where you can close the door and be left alone.  Now sit or lie down, it doesn't matter, what ever feels comfortable for you in that moment.  Put one hand on your tummy, right over your belly button.  We're gonna do some deep breathing.  This works because it helps to turn off your sympathetic nervous system which is giving you all these physical complaints.  The trick is to breathe way deep down in your belly so that your hand is moving with each breath.  Breathe in for a count of 5, hold for a count of 5, exhale for a whole count of 5.  The name of the game is slow and easy.  After a while, I want you to start imagining every muscle in your body, beginning with your feet.  Really concentrate on how your feet are feeling while deep breathing.  Notice the pressure of the floor or the bed against them.  Are they warm?  Can you feel your socks or shoes?  If you're barefoot can you feel a breeze?  Now imagine all the little muscles that make up your feet and ankles and toes and just imagine them relaxing.  Imagine them being warm and soft and just releasing.  It's ok if they aren't just imagine it.  Make it as vivid as possible.  Then move up to your calfs.  Do the same things.  Then your thighs, etc.  going up each section of your body.  When you get to shoulders, really concentrate on letting them drop down or fall with each exhale as the muscles relax.  Don't forget to release your jaw.  Let your teeth fall open naturally, but keep your lips together.  Release your forehead.  Just let all those muscles, imagine all those muscles just relaxing and being warm and heavy.  As thoughts come, and believe me they will come, I want you to imagine putting them in a little bubble, noticing them but not reacting to them and then blow them away in your mind.  Imagine yourself in a state of complete peace.  Just imagine it.  Let the thoughts go.  Blow away all the "I should"'s and "What if"'s.  Just for right now.  Let me know how this works for you!  Hang in there, remember you are not alone!  Jen

LOL!  Isn't it funny that all it takes is breathing right to help make those symptoms back down a bit?  YAY for you!  A victory!  Do be sure to mention to your counselor how you've been this week.  Be honest and don't sugar coat it.  Ask for advice if you want it.  You Go Girl!  I just knew you could do it!  I knew you could.  Keep up a positive attitude.  Remember that sessions are there to help you and that even if some of the things we face in there don't feel pleasant it is all for the greater good.  Be strong.  Take back your power.  We got your back!  Jen

I am so sorry that you are suffering so badly. I dont think the best way to look at what you are dealing with is too fight it. I tend to use that term alot but a wise woman on here showed me the difference, What we need to think about is the moment we are in. Think of right now only. Not 3 hours from now, not tomorrow. Keep yourself in this very moment. By doing that it helps to reduce your constant fear of having another attack or whats going to happen.
I am glad that you have a doctors appt and really hope that they are able to help you. Remember the more you focus on it the more it will take over. I know that is way easier said than done but maybe grab some books on mindfulness and read up and practice that. Jen gave you many wonderful ideas and I hope that you are able to use some of them. If nothing else please remember that you are not alone. You have all our support.

Hey dont worry it is most likely an anxiety disorder of some sort. I suffered from an anxiety disorder a few months back and it went on for 6 months i had all of these blood tests done and my parents thought i was anerexic because i was that nervous i couldnt eat anything and i would constently shake and have panic attacks and evrything like u r going through right now and my parent get me to take valium aka prozac half a tablet at night and i feel a million times better honestly go to the doctor and get them to prescribe something for u it will definatly help aswell as seeing a therapist

Hope this helps

Hi MsLyles!
I have to say, I agree with Rich and Randi.  Did the doctors refer you to a psychiatrist after all of your medical tests came back OK?  A good psychiatrist and therapist, for me, are essential in fighting this disease.  And yes, anxiety can make you feel absolutely awfuI l.  For me, I feel the physical symptoms long before any emotional symptoms show through.  In fact, it is in feeling and dealing with the emotional side that the physical side gets better for me.  As soon as I get that old familiar stomach ache, I realize that I must be feeling angry or sad or worried or something.  I just don't know what yet.  That's what's tough about an anxiety disorder, your physical symptoms, which are meant as an alarm for a physical threat get all messed up.  The messages are false.  The warnings are wrong.  But, it's really really hard to convince our minds of this.  Hang in there.  Let me know how you are.  Jen

All the symptoms youre experiencing could be directly related to a  General Anxiety Disorder. I've suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for a long time and they can MAKE YOU FEEL TRUELY ILL! Sweaty dizzy nauseas shakey-all of that. You should talk to your doctor about some therapies for anxiety; couseling and or drug therapy (Cymbalta has worked wonderfully for me-for both my anxiety and depression)-stay strong:)

Since you passed all your tests,   you most likely are still suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.     You're also probably hyperventilating alot.      You need to get answers to why you're still struggling with anxiety.      Did your doctor(s) suggest therapy?
