no, detox drinks are total BS thats why theyre sold at gnc and not a pharmacy. Plus, your getting the withdrawl symptoms becuase your body got use to the xanax not because you still have it in your symptom. So even if the detox worked it would make it worst because it would be such a sudden change in benzo levels in your system. The best way to taper of xanax is to first switch to a benzo with a longer halflife like kolonopan, then taper of off that..its a bit easier. Or if you cant do that, taper off xanax in to week cycles, halving the amount each time. I would also recommend daily walk/jog and increasing vitamin B complex intake via supplements or juice. Ive tapered of off xanax and took a while for me, a few months.

good luck

Well that *****, feeling like this for a year would be unbearable, i hope i start to feel better soon, its my 3rd day of completely nothing, after tapering myself down over 2 weeks. Sometimes i feel better, and then sometimes i feel like ****. My anxiety is the most severe in the mornings, i think its because of the sleep i get. I feel like my minds hazy, but i found that a big meal before dinner,a hot shower or bath and a few nytol (over the counter sleep meds), really helped me sleep. I dont wana g back on them at all now because of the way they make me feel, if i have to feel like this for up 2 a year, then so be it, i just think that taking more, or going on a slower taper, would be a step back for me. I want to experience life first hand, not thru a daze of benzo's, i appreciate everyones responses because they let me know that im not the only one out there going thru this.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT  :-)

Coming off of benzos can be a real pain in the you know what to put it mildly.  I always suggest working with your prescribing doctor as you come off of the medication.  I have always gone by the mantra, "the slower the better."  This can be a real challange but I have found if you are having really bad side effects a slower taper can help tremendously...just don't take this into your own hands, ok?  I know it can be frustrating, so keep working at it and keep us posted!
