out of all the test for the heart this has got top be the leats painfull. No pain at all and it is easy. There are no anoying patches to pull off your hairy chest lol.
I had echocardiogram when I thought I had heart problems. I was calm during the test but they said it was normal. but did it take my worries away? No.
I had an echo, it was not bad at all, yes, I was nervous and my heart rate was faster, but in all, the results were good and I am so glad I had it, I now know my heart is in good shape and that is another worry out of the way.
I think the Pharmacologic stress test is when they inject dye into you instead of having you walk on a tread mill, it speeds up your heart rate as if you were exercising. I believe another name for it is "Thallium Stress Test"
My dr. scheduled me for an echo too but he also want to run a Pharmacologic stress test. Does anyone know what that is for and what it entails?. I was reading that it has something to do with injecting dye.
It is a quick and painless test....the gel might be cool, but it feels good:). It doesn't matter if you are nervous during the test, it is just measuring how effecient your heart is beating. I have had one and there is NOTHING to worry about.
Remember, any test can cause some anxiety, but the VAST majority of results are normal. I thought it was actually kind of interesting to see; I actually have a heart murmur, which does not affect me in any way whatsoever.
Let us know how it goes!
