very anxious about new home and starting new job today

Hi everyone. I just moved into my new apartment last thursday. Since then I've been dealing with pretty bad anxiety. On top of that I quit my old job which was causing me a lot of stress and I'm starting a new one today. I've been incredibly anxious over that too. I've been feeling sick to my stomach and dizzy and when I start to panic I start hyperventilating and getting real shakey and hot. I scheduled an appt with my gp next week because I've been very exhausted too. I think my stomach issues are anxiety because I will feel incredibly sick and nauseous but within 30min of taking a xanax my stomachache subsides and sometimes ill even feel hungry. I'm just scared I'm getting back into my horrible anxiety rut again.

The sheer exhaustion I feel by the end of the day is also really scaring me. But I really haven't been eating well because of the stress. Right now I'm worried about everything and I just want to break down and cry. I'm on the verge of tears a lot now. I've been thinking that I shouldve just stayed at my moms house because I'm clearly not capable of functioning like a normal adult.

Ugh, big life changes.  Everyone gets anxiety when it comes to change but it ***** for us people who suffer with an anxiety disorder, because anxiety becomes unbearable.  One thing Ive recently tried is wearing rose-tinted sunglasses.  I read that the color red eases anxiety...so I thought id give it a try.  Still not sure on how effective it is, but Id say its worth a try.
Try drinking chamomile-mint tea...this has helped me a lot when I get bad anxiety because the chamomile eases anxiety and the mint eases nausea.  Maybe bring a cup of it to work with you.  Thats what I do when Im feeling anxious and have to work.
Im sorry you are experiencing so much anxiety.  It will pass though, soon this new apartment and job will become your norm and everything will be ok

I may try to find some lavendar candles. I have heard that lavendar is a calming scent. And I love candles. In the evening if I'm getting really anxious ill light some candles in my room and turn the lights out and try to relax so maybe lavendar will help even more.

I hate this anxiety so much. I should be excited for my new job. I will be making better money and I'll be in a much less stressful enviroment but I'm soo nervous. Plus I'm still not completely settled into my new home so that's giving me even more anxiety. The only thing that really helps my anxiety is either going to my mom's house or my dad's house and spending time. I usually calm down much more when I'm with them. I'm actually going over my moms after work tonight so I have that to look forward to after work so hopefully that will help the anxiety during my first shift at this new job.

Erin, I am so sorry you are feeling this way.  It is normal to feel anxious and nervous when you have such major life changes going on - moving, starting a new job. I know it ***** but it is completely normal. Sometimes a good cry really does help me release some of the tension.  Also, make sure to exercise because I find my anxiety is much better when I exercise consistently. Other things that help me relax is the scent of lavender  - I put lavender lotion on when I feel anxious and I find it soothing... take a bath... etc.  You can do this!!!
