i get that, feeling trapped and no options really put me into a panic. That is the problem with getting my tooth pulled. Pain, etc isn't my focus it is the being trapped loosing my mind feeling. Glad you did it anyway, It makes me think of my cd, Feeling the Fear and doing it anyway by Susan Jeffers. You might check that out, i figure if I listen every day it will help more and more, it already is helping some. Good for you Erin that deserves a WHOOOO!
Thanks everyone. I got myself together and made it through work and had an ok time. I like my job. I've only been there 2 weeks but I've already made friends and have gotten to know some of the regular customers. I just get anxious when I'm somewhere other than home and I feel trapped there. Granted I'm not trapped and could honestly leave but I wouldn't want to jeopardize my job. If I'm at the store and feeling anxious I can leave as soon as I have to but I don't really have that option at work. That's what makes me anxious.
Erin,
I am sorry I didnt see this sooner. I hope that your night is going well. Hopefully once you got there you were busy and distracted enough that the anxiety lessened. Send me a message when you have time tomorrow so we can chat.
Hi Erin,
It sounds to me like this is only one part of an ongoing situation(just guessing). How is your home life? Are you experiencing stress at work? Do you normally get anxious around large groups of people? did someone do something at work to possably intimidate you, or make you feel unwelcome? The reason why I ask is because it could be social anxiety, or it could be generalized anxiety and answering these questions should help to get to the bottom a little better.
I think once you get to work and get busy, your mind won't have time to dwell on the negatives feelings you're having right now. I have found that to be true for me. I hope it will be so for you.
I trust you have given therapy and possibly meds some thought. You have a number of options besides simply enduring this kind of stress.
Your higher power is always with you.
You'll be fine.
Peace
