switching from Zoloft to Celexa

I have been on 100mg of Zoloft since I had my second baby 7 months ago, and it does virtually nothing for my anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia. The doctor is switching me to 20mg of Celexa. I was wondering what the best way to transition is, How to go from one to the other with the least amount of scary side effects as possible? Please & Thank you.

I apologize. I thought I had replied to this earlier. I am also on lorazepam, I try not to take it very often as I understand it's highly addictive. I have started the switch, this is my 3rd day, so far so good. I have been anxious but the swith has me taking 50mg(half my daily dose) of zoloft with 20mg of Celexa. In 4 or 5 days I will be stopping the zoloft altogether. If need be, I will increase my dose of Celexa to 40mg in a few weeks . If none of that works I shall seek out another option. Thank you so much for your advice. I really need the communication, it comforts me. I truly appreciate it. =)

Your doctor should have advised you on how best to do this.  Since you are already on an antidepressant, I doubt you will see any side effects of switching to a new one. Are you on any type of anxiety medication?  Most of us take both, and that's an option you may want to discuss with your doctor.  I hope the Celexa does the job for you!
