Newly diagnosed with MS and allergic to steroids.

What's the option for an MS patient who is allergic to steroids? Is there any other medicine that will work on any MS patient allergic to steroids in first place? Thanks.

You might want to read the info at the vitamin D council web site about the connection between Vitamin D3 deficiency and MS. For more info go to
www.vitamindcouncil.org

For "optimal wellness" your D3 levels should be between 50 and 70 ml. Next time you get blood work done ask for a D3 check also. The council suggests you take at least 5,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day.
It is cheap and easy to get at Costco, Walmart, etc.

Good luck,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Oh! Yes! There are several ways to treat MS. Number of promising drugs are in pipeline. Several have been approved. Immuno-modulatory therapy with drugs other than steroids is possible today. Other drugs used are cyclophosphamide and Mitoxantrone. Then there is supportive drug therapy for symptoms. Please talk to your doctor regarding all this. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
