Back pain

I have been having back pain and spasms just above my right hip with pain down the front of my leg. That comes and goes with tingling in my right foot. Now today I have tingling in my left fingers. Went to ER and the xrayed my back and told me I had a compression in #12 disk and had to do a mri. So they did an mri and another doc  came in and told me it was an old injury and my back wasnt causing my pain ???????

I have same problem. Just went yesterday n was seen by a spinal doc. He said my crags n MRI looked ok. He has scheduled me with a Neuro to have a EMG on my left lower extremities on Dec 29. Ckn for sciatic as well although he stated this may all b related to my Chiari.

Hi there!

Issues with T12 vertebra or disc are unlikely to be related to symptoms around the hip/ thigh or arm/hands. With you symptoms issues at other spinal levels, neuro-muscular causes, micronutrient deficiencies etc may need to be considered. It would be best to get this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed or suspected, this can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
