(very long post) my neck is really out of whack near the top or maybe the c1 or c2.

you really can't explain this with text, it's just not possible. so bare with me here or turn away if you'd rather.

about 8 years ago I was sitting at a friends house doing nothing. just watching him play some video game. it was the weekend. the guy was very big and could handle the cool air coming through his window much better than me so I started to put my flannel on and as I was fighting to get my arm through the sleeve my neck did something very strange and I took it very serious because it scared the heck out of me and still does. the only way for me to explain it is to get you to imagine writing on a chalk board when the chalk breaks. you can imagine that there would be a snap followed by a gritty sound that just makes you cringe as the chalk rapidly bounces off the board after it breaks making a broken up R~R~R~R~R~R~R~RNT-T-T-T sound. if that makes any sense. I feel like a fool just typing this stuff.

I've told many people and get nothing but either a yawn of boredom or just laughed at. I haven't had anyone take it seriously not even my own mom. not even one doctor has taken me serious at all. I know it's serious because I also haven't been comfortable in 8 years and my neck does things my 90+ year old granny's doesn't do. actually she did believe me. I demonstrated for her (with her hand on my neck) that if I hold my head down with a bit of force and turn it from side to side the bones in my neck pop out and rotate in such a way that I'm not even going to try and explain, I don't know how. anyway, I did that for her and it really freaked her out and then she demonstrated that her neck didn't do that she was in her 80's at the time.

laying on a pillow for me is similar to having you to lay on a bunch of rocks for several hours.

eventually it spread throughout my shoulders, jaw, wrists and my ankles are getting there it seems. I have never once been diagnosed by a doctor, just laughed at or or told I'm fine because the x-rays always come back looking normal and I've been too scared to demonstrate anymore. to make it worse they really don't believe me when I tell them this next part (and I don't blame them). this very rarely happens but I actually seem to have disks or something slip in and out, impossible right? in fact when I push on the bulging spot I realize, "yep, it's bulging". and when pressure is added it goes back in. and it's very obvious to me that I'm not imagining this. I can feel it and it snaps back in. some times it's so fast my finger is just left hanging in the air, no longer against any thing. it's definitely happening and I'm pretty sure I can even hear it and it sounds like bones against bones. I've been very careful not to do anything dangerous for 8 years. pardon the all-caps. you can laugh if you want, but thats my story...

my only question is, has this ever happened to you or anyone you know? or does anyone have any ideas?
if so then do tell please!

ok here goes, I'm posting the question

WOW!!     I'm not quite sure what I would do if I realized something new about my body that wasn't exactly in the, "manual", know what I mean?  You said that you haven't been seen by a doctor yet, to check this out?  Do plan to?  Out you scared?  Do you still have pain in your neck?  Where these disk pop out, do have pain in those spots also?

This is very Kool!!!!

Good Luck
