Abnormal bleeding on Diane 35

I've been taking Diane 35 for about five years.  I take it for two months at a time (2 packs), then stop for 1 week.  The withdrawal bleeding during this time is pretty regular each time (starts and stops generally around the same time).

I have a vacation coming up, and hoped to control the withdrawal bleeding so that it didn't happen while I was away.  Unfortunately, that means for this cycle, I only took 1 pack of pills instead of the usual 2.  The bleeding seemed to take a little longer to start, but did eventually come and then seemed to stop.

Exactly one week after the last pill, I started on the second pack.  It's been 4 days and suddenly I'm bleeding as if having another period, not at all like normal spotting. The last time I bled like this was many years ago before I started on Diane 35.  I was on Seasonale and I think after a few months I started bleeding and it seemed not to stop for weeks, until I quit taking the pills altogether.

I don't know what to do now - should I stop taking the Diane 35 until the bleeding stops?  I've read online that I should keep taking the pill, but what if the same thing happens as when I was on Seasonale?  This is only the second time I've tried to control the withdrawal bleeding period.  The first time it worked out normally (this was the beginning of this year).  Which option is better, considering my history?
