Another alternative? Possibly IUD

I am 20 years old, not sexually active [never have been] and been on birth control for four years now. In case you are wondering why if I'm restraining from sex it's for medical issues, without the medication I have a period just about daily depending on how things are, very very heavy bleeding, cramps so bad i can barely walk, diarrheah [sp?], sickness making me not eat as much, just not any fun. My first birth control was a pill called FemConFE if I'm thinking of the pronounciation right, which was then switched to the generic after my one month sample. After maybe a year of that, I went onto Yaz [the brand name not generic] and was on that for a full year hoping stronger hormones would help control cramps more, with not much hope. But now for the past two years I have been on Seasonique [brand name again] and I am pleased mostly because it allows me 4 periods of year [translates into 4 weeks of hell a year lol] instead of 12. Safe to say I have given up on trying to find a birth control that will really get rid of these cramps, they seem to never get better not even with my horse sized Ibuprofen pills prescribed to me.
All in all, I am sick of taking a pill every single day, not to mention I am too old to be on my own medical card which was based off my mom's income and gave me free everything, so for the past year we have been paying $175 for a 3-month pack of pills. It is costly and taking a pill daily is annoying to say the least.
I want a new birth control method but not sure about my options. I'm aware of a patch, vaginal ring, shot, implant, and the IUD but honestly the IUD looks like the better option. A ring stuck in me sounds annoying, a patch can be seen [yes it can be stuck on the buttocks but sometimes i wear thong bikinis], a shot isn't practical for me with being away at college, and the implant is just a no-no.
I'm aware the IUD was meant for people who have already had children, but I do know of some girls who have it and do not have kids and are young like me. So, who has tried these different methods compared to the pill and how was it?? Looking for personal opinions as well as medical! :]

I have tried the pill, nuva ring, depo shot, and implanon. My favorite would definitely have to be nuva ring. You put it in for 3 weeks then take it out for 1 week. Hands down the simplest with no side effects.

I know a few women that have had the IUD before children and all they had were problems... but there are people who do just fine...

ive had bot the IUD and the ring... i had the mirena IUD and it caused my hormones to go crazy i felt like i was pregnant the entire 5 years that i had it... it was great for not having to worry about anything tho...

the ring was actually less annoying than you would think... you dont feel it at all you just have to mark the calendar to make sure you change it the right time...
