Hi cat120...not sure if you will see this message, but here goes... my email is ***@****
HAS ANYONE HAD PAINS FROM A DISLODGED TUBAL LIGATION (filshie) CLIP; THEN REMOVAL AND ALL FINE WITH NO MORE PAIN?
I am wondering if you had your tubal ligation clips removed (yet) and if the pain (walking) went away.  I have had this same pain for over 5 years (on and off pain, assuming it becomes inflamed, hurts, then I rest, then the pain goes away, but then the clip moves, edges hit nerves, cause inflammation and pain, and etc etc etc.  It feels like someone is jabbing me with a knife into a nerve sometimes, and during walking, I limp or even worse sometimes,...like a jolt that totally makes my one hip feel like it's just malfunctioned due to this pain. Hurts terribly.  I am calling my doctor today, after reading MANY stories of the filshie clips dislodgement problems, and wanting both (one is dislodged) hooked out!  I am convinced now, that it is the cause of my pain.  I had an X-ray done a year ago and it showed the "metal-like piece" was in my body, and not in the correct place if it was the clip.  I have been to doctors, examinations, and sports physicians and physiotherapists...so all SEEMED fine, and I'm left to believe it is that now. I am 53 and VERY fit...exercised my entire life...so why am I having aches like an 80 year old now and then?, why do I have terrible pain in my right groin/lower abdomen area? 99% chance it is my dislodged tubal ligation clip. Please write to me if you had it removed and if you are ok. Thank you kindly. Nancy

Wow,, just wow! I am also experiencing the same ! I have had 3 Ct Scans, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Ex Rays, several trips to ER and nothing but the pain continues.I have been told one of my clips were missing by my gynecologists( whom did not do my tubal ligation ) before when he removed a be-nine mass from my left side due to pain . I have been to see my current gynecologists doubled over and they did ultrasound and found nothing. I have had endometriosis surgery, then hysterectomy..The pain continues and is a constant!

Serious problems with the Filshie Clip (or any other medical device) can be to the FDA using FDA Form 3500:
http://www.fda.gov/downloads/aboutfda/reportsmanualsforms/forms/ucm163919.pdf

In the past five years, only 29 problems have been reported with the Filshie Clip, and many of those were problems with the surgical applicator, not the clip itself.  Please ask your doctor to submit a report.  If he or she does not submit a report (you can check for it here: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfmaude/search.cfm), you can submit one yourself.

Does this site have any FAQs or instructions regarding how to post a comment?  I have never seen a Comment function that included a field for "To."   I can understand this for a Reply, but not for a Comment.
