Vaginal Bleeding

I've been on birth control for about 5 months and take the pill everyday at the exact time. I've never missed a pill. Last night during sex I started bleeding. It was red blood, not pink or brown, definitely red. Not a lot, but enough that it bothered me.

What could be the cause to this? Or what's going on?

So I went to the gynocologist, and he informed me that it was in fact bleeding from my cervix after intercourse due to my birth control.

I was wondering if there was any other treatment you knew of other than lowering the estrogen level in my birth control pills to prevent this bleeding from continuing? It is still happening after intercourse, is there something I can do to stop it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This bleeding can be due to any trauma to the cervix during intercourse. Secondly it can be due to post coital bleeding. It is most commonly seen in vaginal infection like Chlamydia, gonorrhea, vaginal inflammation etc. it could also be due to disease of endometrium that is lining of uterus, polyps (mass) in uterus and cervix, fibroid tumors or cervical cancer etc.

You should consult a gynecologist and get investigated for all these causes if the bleeding persists or repeat happens after intercourse.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
