What could be the cause of my spotting and other symptoms?

Hello,

I've been on Seasonique for at least two years now (so I only have 4 periods a year). I only had trouble with breakthrough bleeding the first couple packs of it. Then the past 2 or 3, before the most recent pack, my period didn't even come until the middle of the hormone free pills week. Now on my current pack I started spotting brown on week 9 of 13 weeks. I'm now on week 11 and still spotting. Twice the blood has been a deep bright red accompanied by nausea. I have had random bouts of nausea starting in June, I had originally contributed it to the nasal spray I'm currently using for nasal polyps (Fluticasone Propionate). However, the nausea has gotten worse with the spotting. Sometimes I haven't wanted to eat at all because of the nausea, but I'll make myself eat and I will feel better for a little while.

The first day I started spotting I had a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. Since then I've had multiple pains, aches, and cramping feelings all over my abdomen. Some have felt like GI, muscular, and/or period cramps. Without a doubt I always have some sort of pain in my stomach every day. Never a burning sensation, though.

Other random symptoms I have been experiencing include: blurry, uncomfortable vision with contacts, brief breast pain (lasted a day), and night sweats that started a few days ago.

Is it possible that even after being on Seasonique for a few years I'm experiencing symptoms from it I didn't experience in the beginning? I feel like all of the symptoms shouldn't be occurring all at once and that maybe they're from separate issues. I would just please like some insight on possible issues and any advice on how to help it.

I did have an STI screen a little over a month ago and it was clean. I have not had any new sexual partners since then, so I don't think it could be an STI. I see my OB/GYN in a week and my Family Practitioner in a week and a half.

Please help me with any information you have to give me.

I appreciate all of your help,

Lindsey

Thank you for your insight. I hope to get these problems resolved when I see my gynecologist and physician within this next week. Hopefully, it's not something really serious.

Thank you, again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
A complete medical evaluation is necessary for confirming the exact cause of your symptoms. These symptoms could be related to the pill or some other cause which can be detected only after a clinical examination. Spotting or mid cycle bleeding can be due to number of causes like Hormonal fluctuations, Implantation Bleeding/Pregnancy, Low thyroid levels, undiagnosed vaginal infections, malignant cancers etc. Blurry, uncomfortable vision with contacts, and night sweats can be seen in hypoglycemia, tuberculosis, lymphomas etc.See a physician and a gynecologist. You need to undergo a complete clinical examination and work up like blood counts, ESR, thyroid tests; Pap smear and pelvic scan etc.Treatment will depend on the cause. I sincerely hope it helps.
Best wishes and regards!
