Is my Mirena IUD replicating pregnancy symptoms?

I have been on the Mirena IUD for about 4 years since the birth of my only child. I have not had a period since the second month I had the implant placed. I do not have ANY spotting. I do not have ANY cramping. I do not have ANY PMS symptoms at all. However, I have noticed a slow and steady weight gain. Dramatic increase in the size of my breasts (from a B-cup to a D-cup.) As well as, a dramatic decrease in my normally enormous sex-drive. Recently though, in just the past 2 weeks my low sex-drive has increased greatly, I've had more headaches and am very tired. Prior to my pregnancy with my daughter I stopped taking the birth control pill (which I had been taking for close to 10 years.) My sex-drive was insane...my husband and I were like rabbits....I was warned it could take up to a year after stopping the pill to get pregnant...I was knocked up in less than 2 weeks. Throughout my entire pregnancy I was constantly "in the mood." I some how feel like I'm experiencing the same symptoms again right now! I know that the Mirena implant is still in place so the only thing I can figure is that the build up of the hormones from the implant are beginning to mimic the symptoms of being pregnant...  Since I never have a period anymore though I'm concerned that I would have no idea if I really WAS pregnant though! I'm not sure what I should do... I don't want anymore child but I'm not ready to have my tubes tied and my husband won't get fixed...I should still have a year left on this IUD -that I paid a LOT of money for...what should I do?

i had my merina for 2 1/2 yrs and i had some weight gain as tho my doc told me it would not cause that.i did not have any cycles while on my bc.i had it removed in sept of 2011 and have had brown discharge then afterwards comes my period.as for my breast i dont think they got any bigger but im thinking they are getting smaller.i went from a D cup to now a B cup and i wonder why that is.while on the bc i did not have any kind of pg symptoms. you may want to call your doctor just to be on the safe side since you are nearing the end of your bc.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Even if you are using Mirena which is a hormonal IUD(intrauterine device) but chances of conceiving are still there if there is any birth control failure . However to confirm the status of pregnancy, I suggest you to test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test. Also then I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
