If I were you, I would consult a different set of doctors after your pregnancy. With a tumor that size, it should have been removed as soon as it was discovered. Anything over 1cm is removed due to the damage or potential damage it can do whether or not it is hormone producing.

You may already having mass effect issues IMHO.

Do you have copies of your past lab testing and your MRI (which I hope was a proper dynamic pituitary MRI) so you know if it grows up around the optic nerves, around the carotids, or down into the cavernous sinus, or other? There are links in the health pages about finding pituitary centers and all when you are ready. Best of luck with the baby!

Its been there for 7 years at a minimum I am not terribly worried its going to grow fast enough to cause any new issues. Will address after baby is born. Have an MRI and labs scheduled mid July. My tumor does compress the stalk so I have the "stalk effect". Which is not causing trouble currently. The vision issues seem to correlate with being at the end of a pregnancy and I assume from compression. I may seem a bit laid back about it. That is how I prefer to be, in time it will be taken care of. Right now i am working on focusing on our unborn child and making it through the pregnancy without mass effect issues. Yes, I do know when to be seen if it gets to that point.

Even non-functional tumors (which are very badly named) can have hormonal effects - from the mass effect as well as just mass effect issues from the size of the tumor.

What do your latest hormonal tests show? I really would get in to a neuro-endo asap. Have they discussed the risks of pituitary apoplexy with pregancy?

Again, what type of tumor? Please see your doctor ASAP - this could be a sign of so many things - you need to be seen. Eye muscles can be effects and so can the optic nerve - but you need to see a neuro-optho and/or pituitary endo ASAP.
Please let us know.
