Possible Brain Tumor?

Lately I have been experiencing some symptoms.

Whilst bending down and laughing and sneezing, I occasionally experience a sharp pain near the front of my head(around my left temple/forehead)

There are no issues whilst not doing those activities(so far)

I am about to go for an MRI for other reasons(I have had a heart surgery since I was a kid and I need to check-up)

Will MRI detect any brain tumors(if there are any)

Are my symptoms indicative of this(does brain tumor symptoms come and go?)

I am only a layman - not a doctor. The watch and wait is consistent with what I have read (I do have, I hope, a good link on them in the health pages) for certain types and you should be aware of certain symptoms so you know when it is an issue and if you need to call the doctor.

That is a tiny one though from what I have read. And many don't rupture either - I hope the doc said that?

Ok so I have had my MRI/MRA and I have a berry aneurysm which has a diameter of 1.5 mm

My doctor says this isn't a problem as they have to grow many more millimeters until they rupture

He says for me to have checkups every year
Does this sound ok?

An MRI sees tumors.

I hope after you get your scan you know more. Let us know!

I don't feel anything significant

I also have these experiences occasionally

I'm also not sure if it's an MRA or MRI
The doctor said MRI but I'm not sure

Does MRI see tumors?

I think that is a MRA then?

Do you have POTS - where your BP varies from laying, sitting and standing?

The MRI is for the blood vessels (the doctor wants to scan for any problematic vessels since i have a heart problem)

The pain caused is not HUGE but it is definitely felt. I have heard that it can be sinus headaches or tension headaches except I don't show symptoms until I bend over

I am a layman, so like anyone I can only do best guesses - I am glad you are seeing a doctor and getting an MRI.

The second question does sound like muscle issues - I know when I used to carry anything heavy (or even not so heavy) or even get stressed, my neck will stiffen up like crazy. If you look at anatomy books, you will see how the muscles of the neck and shoulder are very connected.

I was guessing more of a vasovagal thing with the laugh/sneeze but I don't know if that causes pain. Is the MRI a brain MRI? It should show any lesions (sometimes the radiologists miss the teeny pituitary ones, but that does not seem to be your issue).

Brain tumor symptoms can vary - some people don't really have many symptoms until acute onset (like my cousin) or they can be subtle or in your face - but your doc should be able to screen and send you on to a neurologist if he/she is worried.

Also is it normal to have a stiff neck when carrying heavy things on your shoulder?
