Pituitary Problems?

I have a series of symptoms that i have been dealing with for some time now.I have pressure inside the top of my head it doesnt feel like something is pressing on it,it feels like something is expanding from the inside out...It comes and goes whenever...I do not get head aches often at all,but with or without a head ache i still get pressure...Lately my vision has been getting a little worse, and i just went to the eye doctor.Even with a new prescription i noticed its getting a little worse. My ability to see at night has gone down alot.I also have extreme fatigue with lack of concentration and focus.I started taking vitamin b complex a month ago to help my  dry hair, and it ended up helping my fatigue and concentration considerably, but lately it has not worked.Especialy today.I am not getting my periods regularly at all(i dont have pcos).I also gained alot of weight out of nowhere, even with exercise i am not able to lose weight unless i starve myself(which i know is bad).I have extreme sweating with no extensive exercise required.I also cannot tough cold items at all,it literaly pains my fingers to do so.I have told my old dr. about the problems i was having and told her i wanted a scan or mri and she told me no.But without that the possibility of having a tumor cannot be ruled out.Can anyone tell me what this all may be?..

1.pressure in head  2.vision changes day and night  3.fatigue  4.weight gain not due to lack of exercise or over eating(i barely take in 1,000 cal a day,i exercise 4-6 times a week for about an hr a day)   5.intolerance to touching cold items   6.irregular menses(every 5+ months)

Thanks for the advice.I totaly understand the aggravation you went through it is very hard to get some one to look beyond all the common problems they were taught to look for. That is why im going to an internal medicine doctor, they are taught to expect the unexpected and deal with the most complex symptoms so hopefuly this will be it for me.Hopefuly this doctor will listen.I agree with getting emotional i do tend to get aggravated easily because ive had to explain these things so many times to so many doctors (about 7 in 4yrs) just for there to be nothing done about it.I have an apt on sept 17th so ill will come on here again and let you and anyone alse whos having this problem know what he had to say and whats going to be done.Again thanks for the advice...

It is very difficult to go to a doctor with a list of tests - again, that will probably set them off again. After all, they know everything. I know this is difficult. It took me over 12 years to get treatment for my own pit tumor and I ended up traveling far and wide for doctors, and it ended up the last doc I saw 3000 miles away saw me, helped and and I finally got help.

Put together pictures of yourself, Put your labs that you have and scans. Let the doctor look and try not to talk or get upset (very hard as I am very emotional and used to go out in the parking lots and cry after appointments). I used to agree to all the stupid testing and even went to a psych (who agreed it was physical, not mental). I got everything else ruled out in the meantime while I was getting sicker and sicker.

I kept hopping from doc to doc and once in a while I would get pituitary and the hormone testing that I needed - and that I could keep - make sure you get copies of everything - and that later was used to diagnose me. I was working and trying to get diagnosed.

It is hard work - but if you find the right doc, speak quietly but firmly, and then simply never go back when the guy/gal is an idiot.

I have made an apt with a totaly new doc but i dont want them to not listen to me.It seems that i have this issue alot with them. Some act like they know everything n some just dont care what i say n truth b told im starting to not have alot of faith in them.I have that right as a patient to have a say so in things and i feel that i should be tested for everything, all the hormones and everything you mentioned. Its just getting them to listen to me and not pass it on as something it isnt. What kind of tests can i mention to the doctor to get done on me any specifics you can think of???

You have to get testing. Blood, urine and saliva will tell the story - so while the eye doc is a start, you need to see a PCP for some basic testing and/or and endo for testing.

MRIs usually come after testing - as the testing really tells you what is going on and what type of tumor, if you have a pit tumor, you are dealing with. It could also be thyroid or other things - but the endo system in you sounds impaired and needs testing. Can you find another doctor to do testing?
