If your are only on ddavp, it sounds like you are just left with residual diabetes insipidis. Hormones change over time so make sure your keep up it even though it can be tedious.
Usually they do surgery not a biopsy as the location does not lend itself to a biopsy. So they should keep an eye on the imaging and your blood tests and decide and may increase the frequency until they know you are stable.
Keep us posted..
Scar tissue, like a scar on your arm or leg, would not be an issue unless it is large and like the tumor, is pressing on the pituitary or something else and causing issues. I am a layman and patient like you so I hope your doctor explains things well to you!
Hi there. Do you know what type of tumor that you had? I ask as it is important to know as sadly some types are way more prone to grow back than others.
I think it was really close to your optic nerve, not your eyes? So it sounds like it was a larger tumor and grew up into the optic chasm. My best guess is that it was a non-functioning tumor as those tend to be larger but it could have been anything.
It is scary when your tumor may or may not be back. Mine grew back. I don't know if you want to face it, but you may want to look at your records and learn about your tumor as sadly pituitary is going to be there forever, but the more you know, the better you can manage things. I am panhypopituitary (my pituitary does not function) and it is important that I know all my test results. it is always scary but the more you learn, it can take away the fear.
