So happy to be alive!

Well God's given me another day...I'm on so many meds that I'm either wide awake or passed out. At the moment I'm on Morphine, Percocet, Decadrone, Keppra, Zofran, and I'm pretty sure there's something else. :P I tried uploading pics all day yesterday, but it's not letting me on this site. I'll try again later.

Dr said yesterday I should probably be out by Monday..so we'll see! I'm totally exhausted when I'm up.

I really thought I posted on here the other day, but can't find it so I guess I forget?

@rumpled- I go on acting like I'm superwoman and just being a little cautious..but knowing that you fell makes me take it more serious. They've told me that the part of the brain that was cut through will never be the same but has to have other parts learn to compensate..so I wonder how long it takes this balance/weakness wiring to learn it's way around again lol

@tbh- My son has seizures, but they don't show up on EEG's. He's even spent a week at an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Vandy and it showed nothing. So I don't know what to think if nothing shows up on my EEG. I go to the Neurologist Monday. I can't wait to see what he has to say. NS wants me to stop running around taking care of the kids all of the time and cleaning the house and do just what the therapists tell me to. The fact that he has 4 kids that are the same exact age as mine made me feel more like I should listen to him since he knows what I am dealing with at home :P

I'm scheduled for an MRI on Jan 16th..I can't wait! The CT the day after showed the smallest bit of residual tumor so it will grow back..it's just a matter of time. My NS thinks a good 20 or 30 years at the moment :D

I haven't had a spell in almost 3 weeks.
They may or may not be partial seizures. I was conscious and moving the whole time- just unable to coordinate my hands. I had an EEG which was normal, so he said it is less likely that I would have any focal seizures.

I've heard of some people having screws removed. I have even heard of someone people's coming loose! Ick. Not common of course.

My NS also said that scar tissue will eventually fill gaps.

So happy to hear that you are expected to make a full recovery. Does he want you to cut back on some of the therapy to let you heal? Or do you have to keep going at the same rate?

I fell out of the blue - average day. :( It is going to take a while to recover - I am slow as usual.

Good news on the recovery news - it does take time! I had no where near the surgery you did and it took me 8 months to get back to work. Between the hormones, the surgery - it takes a long time and you have the seizures on top of it...

You fell!?! That might actually make me listen to my Dr and PT now.  Did you fall in an average day or were you doing something more risky for a fall? I hope you're doing okay now
..I went to NS yesterday
Good news first..Neurosurgeon said he still thinks I am going to have a full recovery in the end!! Bad news...said I still can't drive :( I need to go on seizure meds, due to not resting as much as I should I haven't recovered as fast as he thought, the gap where he put the patch will probably fill in with scar tissue, if the plate and screws bother me too much in the future after my skull fully heals he could go in and take it out (but doesn't recommend that unless it's very bothersome)

tbh- How are you doing with the spells. Mine haven't happened often either. But they're pretty sure it's seizures due to the klonopin helping when my legs start jerking at night. He said that makes it very likely that I need some kind of nerve stabalizer...i think that was the word :P
