There could be so many causes - it is impossible for us to know.

Steroid can cause glucose to rise, but *usually* sodium and potassium go in opposite directions, however, that is not always the case. I know I am an all over "tanker" as well as a few of my buds - we tank in both...

Usually to raise K, they would give you sodium if that is low and if that is the issue (and the BP is not an issue), or give you K directly if that is needed. It could be infection - or just no reason. I have a friend that just tanks - no reason.

Just had surgery - things are a bit off - needs to heal.

Hi-
Were you on steroids like prednisone after your surgery? That can cause the glucose to go up. RE the low potassium level were you put on a blood pressure med. Some of them req you to take potassium along with. I would call your doctor to discuss.
