Thankx for the info, it is helpful. And by the way, I've had nothing to do with my father since I was six. The day he died was the happiest for me. I never missed him. I had a step-dad the was the closest thing to GOD that I will probably ever see. I miss him! Thanx again.
Trauma can cause pituitary damage. That is well documented. Especially if it bad enough that you lost consciousness.
Sorry about your family - can't pick 'em...
Could all of this be caused from repeated beatings of the head? My father used to beat me in the head until I lost consciousness when I was 2 months until I was 4 yrs. old. His way of conditioning me not to cry. Stupid drunk!!
Hello.
I would suspect that most neurologists are not going to be able to help you - they are clueless when it comes to pituitary issues. You need to go to a pituitary center.
Empty Sella Syndrome means that they cannot see your pituitary. The pituitary sits in a little bony pouch called the sella (really the sella turcica) and hangs off a stem like a cherry. It can happen for many reasons so there is no telling why - it could have happened when you had your children (that would have been called Sheehan's syndrome) but whatever happened, somehow, normally the pituitary sits floating in CSF (cerebral spinal fluid - that is the excess fluid the neuro was talking about) but something happened and it may be that your pituitary is squished. CSF is opaque on MRIs so they cannot see.
So you are going to need a neuro for the seizures, but you are going to need a pituitary expert to get replacements for the pituitary issues that you may have. The symptoms can vary so you may have lived with it for a long time.
my user name is because i have 3 grandsons who call me nana. and boy, do i need this!
Also, ur not rude, I'm going 2 a new neuro on Fri. because my old one wouldn't talk to me. There's not many choices where i live.
