9 mm BTW is less than half an inch - 25 mm is an inch. 9mm is a pea on the larger size.
I don't know if they will biopsy. It could also be a cyst - TBD has good advice - get a copy of the report and find out exactly what it is that way you have a good idea what it is before you go in. At most imaging places, you can call and get a copy of the report AND the CT on CD after 24 hours for your own records. I suggest you do that. Just call the medical records area and request it.
meningiomas are tumors that grow on the lining of the brain, and often look like they are between the brain and skull. They are the most common type of primary brain tumor. i don't know much about other types.
By most standards, 9 mm is small. However, with growths in the brain, it depends on the location and what it is pressing on. Most people with benign growths that small will be told to leave it alone and just monitor with yearly MRI's to make sure it's not growing too much, unless it is near an important structure.
I suggest you get a copy of the radiologist report. It will give you more info about location, possible diagnosis, etc. (if it's thought to be a meningioma they won't bother biopsying it. I guess it has characteristics that makes it easily identified on MRIs)
