malignant phyllodes

hi,im 29 yrs old lady.on sep09 i got operation on rt breast malignant phyllodes tumor.and agin i got bk it now in Decembernow im doing total mastectomy.is it going to help me?what is the ratio of people that they never got it back?i should do reconstruction now?if i do re construction and it came back then i can do another mastectomy and replace it back?i heard that radiotherapy or chemotherapy is not working on it.is it true?i should tk radiotherapy after the mastectomy?.pls ans.tanji

thank u very much.my oparetion wl be on 4th jan.bcoz i got cold now.is it ok?is it going to spread in this time?my armpit already paining.almost 1 momth already going after 2nd recurrance.thnx.best regards

If there is no lymph node invovlement the chances of a recurrance are much less as well as metatises to other areas such as chest wall, lung and skeleton. As you probably know Malignant Phyllodes tumors are not known to respond to regular Radiation or Chemotherapy.  I would suggest that you write all these concerns down on paper and discuss them in depth with your Oncologist either before or after your mastectomy. The matter of reconstruction should be discussed in detail with both your Oncologist and Plastic Surgeon  BEFORE your mastectomy.    Kindest regards ....
