I've just received my biopsy results (I had a BIRAD 4 mamo with microcalcifications). While removing my stitches the surgeon said everything was normal - fibrocystic changes. That I should have a mamo in 6 mos. After getting back to work, I called and asked for a copy of my path report when it arrived, they faxed it to me. Now I just want an explanation of the report, but won't see the surgeon for 6 months. Am I at a high risk for cancer? My results are as follows:
Proliferative fibrocystic changes with duct epithelial hyperplasia, duct ectasia, cysts, patchy dense stromal fibrosis and microcalcifications.
