hello, i am 32, and i found a lump last month in my breast. i got worried and went to my GP. My doctor reffered me to windsor hospital for biopsy and scan. They also took samples to find out and then i went for my results on thursday and i was very scared. the doctor told me i  got benign phyllodes tumer about 1cm in my brest and i have to go through surgery to remove it. He also gave me a leflet about the conditin. when i read that after removing the tumour it somrtimes comes back as cancer. I am realy scared to go for the opration and thinkng to leave that tumour as it is benign and i dont want yo touch it to make it worse.I am also worried about the size of my would go smaller and the scare aftr the opration.

can you please explain to me exactely about the condition because i not aware of these things. thank you very much.

Whether Phyllodes tumors are benign or malignant they are best removed. If left even the benign tumors may have metastatic characteristics and would cause metastises in the future.  Less than 10% will return after removal. Leaving it is what would make things worse .... removal is the standard method of treatment. There must also be a margin removed around the tumor and this may cause some difference in your breast size depending on the tumor size.  Regards .....
