Moles

Hi there! I have been reading up on moles and skin cancer and I have myself a bit worried. I feel as if my moles are all asymmetric... I really don't know how to tell. Anyway, does that automatically mean cancerous skin cells or could it just be weird looking moles? They all seem to be the same size, not large or red or even painful, but Ive been worrying myself with online research. Should I just have a dematolgost check them out?

Thanks!

Hi ekoanth, are you a sun worshipper?  I have alot of moles that are crazy, one of them recently broke in half, it was shaped like a small fish and part of it just went away, I had it checked and it was ok.  If you think they are strange looking why not be safe and have a doctor check them out, then you not worry and relax and enjoy the summer.

Irregular shape isn't neccessarily a worry in itself. Lots of irregular moles are just fine. Changing moles are the concern. Make a note of all your moles and then check them from time to time. Any changes then see a dermatologist. If I were you I would wait until I had to see a doctor for another reason and then ask them to quickly check all your moles while you're there. No urgency though.

Take care. Be aware from the internet but try not to obsess.
