Hi. A lymph node with an increased glucose uptake (or "hypermetabolic") on PET scan is suspicious for cancer recurrence and should be biopsied to confirm the presence or absence of malignancy.
Anyone know anything about Inguinal Lymph Node Cancer, my mother was just diagnosed with it, and I have no idea what to expect!
Hi I have a multiple part question.
After two 72 hour infusions of I.C.E to get back into remission from a recurrence of my Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was stage 4B 3 years ago and now I am 52. I am preparing for an Autologous stem cell transplant in a month or so. However, my doctor clearly stated to me in person that he does consider me to be back in remission based upon my PT scan results from 12/3/2013. My concern is, now that I have a copy of the attending radiologist and resident, they are both in agreement that there is mildly hypermetabolic left level III lymph node (SUV max = 1.36) which is likely reactive. What concerns me is the other impression they noted which is a hypermetabolic left level VI lymph node (SUV max= 2.55) which they have noted could be reactive or malignant. My concern is, how can my oncologist state that I am in remission is a potential malignancy was observed? I do recall him stating that " we generally don't worry about anything that is showing up as a 1 or a 2 with regard to SUV's".

Thank you
