7 month old male--biting especially at night

When my cat got about 3 months old he stayed in a vet for 3 days. Before he was loving.  He came home a monster at biting and general aggression. I had to  resort to the water bottle. He would just suddenly leap in the air and bite my arm--and I had to be sure and keep my hands out of the way. I have gone to vet a long time, so I don't think it was anything that happened then. He was EXTREMELY hiper before he got neutered. It just seems he does it out  of the blue. One thing for sure, when it is night and time to go to bed he really attacks my arms--he leaps straight to my arm. I have gotten sort of used to it and keep the water bottle close by--that doesn't always stop him. Also used spray Feliway. Sometimes I wonder if he has some sort of mental/brain disability. It is keeping me from bonding with him as I should.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I haven't thought about the treats.  I sure hope that he will grow out of it--he sounds just like the "terrible two's"--throwing a fit, etc.  I also thinks he gets mad when I stay gone most of the day.

Actually this kind of behavior is not uncommon among kittens.  It is a stage that I call the "terrible 2s".  Just like children, kitten go through stages of learning, exploration, and pushing the envelope.  They can be prone to "temper tantrums", negative attention seeking behavior, and various other "what trouble can I get into because I am bored" behavior.  As with children, it takes patience, consistency, and discipline, but eventually this too will pass.

Be sure nobody else in the house thinks it's fun to roughhouse with the cat in the style one would roughhouse with a dog.
