I agree that cats should never get human meds without consulting a vet! Your cat needs attention ASAP! If money is an issue, please call your local humane society or aspca they offer discounted services to get your cat the help that she desperately needs.

The vets don’t recommend to give cats, humans antibiotics, as some may not be suitable for them, however, they are some human antibiotics that can be used in cats, like Amoxicillin, but you need the right doses or else it can lead to overdose.

Call your local humane organization and ask if there are vets around that will do a discounted-price call.  Our vet has a charity fund, call around and ask.  Explain your situation and ask.

My guess (and it is just a guess) is that kitty is serving herself with her foot because it hurts her head or makes her nose run to dip it down to lap from the bowl.

Cats are hardy, but don't ask one to take amoxi in amounts just guessed at, and expect all to be well.  What if kitty has a virus and not a bacterial infection?  Antibiotics don't touch those.

Hello Shilou,

This is really important. Do not give your kitty the liquid amox you described. You are not a vet.  You say you are positive that your cat has some kind of nasal infection.  What is she doesn't have that.  What if the sneezing is being caused by something else ?  You should never give medicine prescribed for a human to a cat.  It is very dangerous to the cat to do this.
How many days has your kitty been sneezing ?   I don't know where you read on the internet that you can give a cat amoxicilian . You can't believe everything you read on line.  You said you have no choice. Ah, but you do. You say you don't have money to take her to a vet.  There are some vets that will let you pay a little at a time.  It sounds to me like you kitty needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible.  Sneezing , I think, can indicate an upper respiratory infection . You need to have your kitty seen by a vet.
A cat we adopted a number of years ago had an upper respiratory infection. We brought her to our vet. The vet examined her and gave us some medicine prescribed by the vet and she got better.  The medicine was not expensive . I am not saying this is what your kitty has, but whatever it is you cannot ignore it.  Your kitty is sick.  You can't give your kitty human medicine like amoxicilian.   This is very dangerous.  If you overmedicate, you can put your kitty in serious danger, even life threatening.  I wish you luck, but giving
amox that was prescribed for a baby is NOT the answer to making this cat better.      Eve   ( mother of Sammy the nine year old cat  )
