Miss Teia getting elderly

Brought her in for a well-kitty check last week, liver and thyroid continue at the high end of normal.  Kidneys a little weak.  Getting a sub-q set up from the vet to see if she'll take getting fluids at home to help flush her system.

Missy T is down to 7 pounds.  She sleeps a lot, but that's expected.  However, when she's awake and moving around her energy level is good and she's not wobbly.   Still interested in her water time in the shower and her garage patrols, even a little Outside time.  Snuggles more and has actually been a lap kitty the past week.  She's also a little hard of hearing.

I think we have to admit that Miss Teia is finally an elderly girl, will be 17 1/2 next month, which will also be 7 years we've had her in our family.

She has really done well, had a healthy 17+ years, and hopefully more ahead just at a slower pace like ourselves :)
Did they check her for hyperthyroidism? Common esp with age, the weight loss is a key

Doc Bennett says Miss Teia is just under the top end of normal for Thyroid.

She continues to have a good appetite, giving her a little Miralax every day not to help her bowel function.

Teia does well at the vet, tolerating get poked and prodded, so we hope she'll take getting sub-q at home, without the stress of having the ride to the vet in a box.

Hey Pip,

  Miss Teia is 7 lbs. of powerful kitty.  Even after her well-kitty check she still does her shower thingie, does the Queen's garage patrol, and would take on Buff & Cooper if they didn't know who's boss (sorry, it's not you, Pip).  What a kitty!!!

Missy T is still doing okay, still trying to figure out how to best give her sub-q fluids, while not stressing her too much.

Anita and I decided we need to see the vet for a refresher course in giving sub-q fluids.
