Brave Miss Teia...

Our friends, Tom and Joe, spent much of the day sitting in our family room conversing with us, they're the kind of friends for whom you don't have to have anything planned.

Buff hid under the couch until he saw a chance to bolt and go upstairs. Cooper was hiding under the blankets on the guest bed.

Miss Teia not only stayed out and about, she let both of them touch her and scratch her ears for a few seconds. She did spend most of the visit watching from out of arms length, but she did not hide as I expected.

...and now, Miss Teia is thought to have mild IBS, giving her a bit of Miralax in her food.

I'm sorry to hear this Pip.  I hope the Miralax will keep her bowels manageable.  How is her weight?

I's a little trouble pooping once every 2 - 4 weeks.  We were concerned a bit more this time as there appeared to be some blood in the fluid around her stool. I'm hoping the Miralax will help the stool stay softer.

She was eating well by the middle of the evening and has been eating good since.

Miss Teia has a mild UTI, got antibiotics for her at the vet today.  Brought her in to double check weight versus dosing (they do that with all medicines). She has gained 2 more ounces in the past weeks and a half since I first brought her in over the UTI (they had to get a urine sample and wait for test results, did have an antibiotic to give her in the mean time).

This means, Miss Teia has gained 12 ounces since her last bout with a UTI in February. She's now up to 5 pounds 14 ounces.

She seems to be responding to the antibiotic, appetite is good.

Hey, Pip.  Miss Teia is so smart and confident.  I can just see Buff waiting to make his escape.  What was Cooper thinking hiding in their very room?  Surely he wasn’t happy to lay in wait and attack?  Your babies are so cool.

Our friends don't stay with us, though we've known them for over 35 years, they always rent a hotel room.

That's so sweet. It is very flattering to friends when one's cat is friendly to them -- most kitties are only outgoing with their known family.

One cat in our neighborhood, out of probably six who are often around, is very friendly. Obviously we like her the best!

Teia was social like this with other people only once before.  Earlier this year the cable company tech came out to replace the cable modem and trouble shoot the system.  When he was in Teia's Room (our family room) checking the internet connection, she sat on the recliner chair watching him work.

Our neighbor feeds the cats when we are away for a few days.  She'll stare at Chris, then hide.

Buff and Cooper, they are ghosts in the house whenever anyone else is here.
