More of Buff and Cooper's back story. Buff is the crushed and starving kitten mentioned. They thought he would lose his left hind leg, if he lived.

From Julie Dulak, one of the Manada rescuers from 29 June 2014:

"Successful" day in the Manada St. neighborhood. REALLY glad Loretta Wietry heard some distressed kittens crying from within a PILE of termite infested wood. After removing about 30 old fence posts and railroad ties (with the extra bonus of a dried-up pile of holly bush trimmings and the attendant thorns) we discovered/extracted five kittens that the mother could not get to for some time. One may not make it, as it was partially crushed and obviously starving.. My theory is that the mother cat put them in there and then the wood pile shifted. Also handed off to Loretta another 2 black kittens removed the other day, siblings (we think) to the two in Jf Richards care. 4 cats returned to the neighborhood...... I now have Poison Ivy on my Poison Ivy.

Buff is irrepressible, moves at Light Speed for sheer joy I believe.

Cooper is gaining confidence, jumped up on the new chair where Teia was having lap time with Anita...T hissed, Cooper backed away.

The hoarder has been seen bringing more cats onto the property where she lives in a trailer as the house has been condemned.

That is the Face Book page title.  Manada Street in Harrisburg, PA is the location of the ongoing hoarding situation the rescuers have been trying to take kittens and cats out of, without help of either the city government or the Humane Society.  Anita and I have given them over $2000 since Hildiekatt's Final Kindness in June.

They rescued more kittens last week.  Have rescued over 40 cats and kittens (THRed the wild adults) and have a small network of fosters healing and socializing the kittens.  They've also buried over a dozen that they either found dead or did not survive, since June.

Buff and Cooper were among the first half dozen rescued, 1 of whom did not survive.

Another sad story with a happy ending, so happy these two have found themselves in a loving home.

Pip I don't understand your comment that the Manada street cats are dying right now, Ru meaning the cats have all been homed?? Or is somethg else going on??
