I have a feeling that I did it just in time - if not a little late.Shot was only 10 september and Loreena had already her second big hunting day...
First one was probably a baby skunk ( if not a mouse- could not see properly cos he was alived and run away -hope its fine) second baby birds, not sure about the results as well ( tell ya more later on)
Missing the time she only grabbed lizzards :(
Is this springtime for cats owners,is she having hormonal changes or is my madness contagiating my cat?(lots of stress here)
Hi, the rabies shot is notorious for making cats feel sick for a couple of days. I know it must be stressing you out to see your kitty feel bad, trust me....It bothers me, too. Unfortunately, in my state we are not given a choice because it's the law.
I agree w/ Sillygirl that you should tempt your cat w/ treats. Chicken or ham baby food will work wonders, as well as some chicken broth. You should always have some of this on hand for emergencies!
Good luck.
Just like the above, one of my kitties always sits around all punko for a couple of days after a shot. I think he gets a little fever. He comes out of it fine.
It is not unusual for cats to sleep a lot or be quiet , and eat less than usual following shots, including rabies. I wouldn't worry if she is drinking water. More than two days, you want to call vet.
My Shadow had two vaccinations and his rabies shot about 3 weeks ago. He didn't have his usual lumberjack appetite, but I didn't worry as vet told me he would not.
My office called next day to see how he was doing. Looking back believe it was about 48 hours before my boy was back to normal.
An idea: if you are worried about your girl not eating, try tempting her with a quality wet food or treat. I have mine on Wellness, and they have small cans of chicken and turkey.
Also treats. He never turns them down.
Best to you and kitty.
