Once I read about someone that bought a catnip spray and used it as a perfum ( he liked the smell) He said all cats in the neighbourhood fell in love for him and started to follow him everywhere :-)
Hi Maddie,
Nothing like home grown drugs. I know I love diving into a field of Catnip myself, LOL!
Smudge is a very lucky fellow coming upon such a connoisseur of Kitty Crack!!!
Thank you all for your lovely comments about Smudge. My precious pet, so loving. He was abandoned previously, and I gave him a name and a home.
I live in England so perhaps catnip is easier to grow over here as climate wet and mild. Mind you we have had a very dry summer this year but the catnip has positively flourished. Smudge loves diving into it, rolling in it, and chewing it whilst it is growing!! Must be like a drug to him.
I would love catnip could grow so well here in my city/country.
So I could make lots of toys for my babies and for the ones from Adoption fair,Ongs and /or cat friends
Not sure if it was just because I planted it in a pot, but my results were quite poor.Thing is still alive , cos Loreena is very good girl and only eats 3 leaves each time -IF I give her - she never grab from the pot, "God knows why"
She never rolled over it - the times I saw damage there was some foreigner cat
But it never flourished and is probably her second cicle of life already.
Maybe it for this reason no one grows catnip to sell here - the catnip we have at pet stores is always imported from USA ( AND EXPENSIVE)
I will try sow the thing right on the soil someday - but I better wait til rain comes cos its a lot hot and dry here by now
Your catnip looks lovely. Smudge is clearly in heaven. We tried to grow some in our garden one yr. It didn't get a chance to mature before Jade (and strays, I'm sure) was rolling all over it destroying the baby plant. Ha, oh well.
I can't help but agree with Opus and Pip. Smudge is looking gorgeous and healthy as ever!
Such a nice Cat Parent you are, and Smudge looks perfect!
my gosh Smudge is looking so good.....lovely photo!!
good for you for finding a way to use the catnip you grow.....my Sami loves his catnip too...
