Fibrosarcoma tumor has become an open sore

My kitty has a tumor that was diagnosed as cancer on her back behind her right shoulder.  We had it removed once, but it came back.  We then took her to a kitty oncologist who said she needed 5 weeks of radiation, then a surgery and possibly chemotherapy.  We opted not to do that because of the stress it would put on her.  I'm sure the fact that my mother passed away of cancer last year and I wish she hadn't gone through what she went through played a huge part in that decision.  At least my mom knew what was going on and could make her own decisions.  We went to another vet who said he could do another surgery again, but also said it would come back.  We opted for that just to buy her some time.  Well it has come back and it's growing pretty fast and has started to break through the skin.  She's eating and drinking, but I know it can't be comfortable for her.  Is there something I can do to tend to the wound, or slow the growth?  Over the counter pain meds anyone can recommend?  I'm open to miracles as well. Help.

wish I could offer some magical answer, sorry I don't have any...just wanted to send you both some prayers and strength to get through this very difficult time. don't allow her to suffer just because you can't bear to say your goodbyes...when she becomes too uncomfortable, please say your last goodbyes and hold her close during that long drive to your Vet clinic...I'm so sorry I do know how very hard this is...♥♥
