Foster kittens and shelters

My previous thread seems to have fall off the grid, so starting this new one.

I took Tucker to the shelter Saturday morning for adoption. He spent most of the day being anti-social and sulking.  He was much better yesterday actually playing and interacting with his new kennel mates. I was able to get several of the shelter kittens adopted yesterday, but unfortunately, Tucker was not one of them.  Maggie Moo (Good Humor Man's sister and the one that lost an eye from clymedia)  is also back at the shelter for adoption.

Meanwhile, GHM has had a relapse of his pneumonia.  Not nearly as bad as it was before, but he has been somewhat congested for the past week.  He is still eating and drinking at at least maintaining his weight  His congestion is persistent but not severe and the nebulizer seems to keep it down to where it isn't interfering with his breathing.  He doesn't seem to have a very good sneeze reflex so he isn't able to expel much of the nasal mucus.  While hubby hasn't come right out and said so, I think we will be keeping this one :-)

Yea, me too.  He is doing pretty well.  Still some congestion and eye drainage, but it hasn't gotten any where near as bad as it was the first time.  I suspect that he may be somewhat like my Balinese, Zena, who had corona virus as a kitten.  It stunted her immune system somewhat and she reacts badly to any live vaccines because her immune system was so overtaxed when she was a kitten.  But she is 11 years old now and she is just fine.

sorry you're thread got lost in the shuffle of things.........poor little GHM, he doesn't have much of an immune system and his little lungs are not in good shape are they. I hope ths won't be a life long infliction?
the good news is he will be staying with you, that is so good to hear Nancy, he needs you....otherwise may never be adopted and he seems like such a darling little guy.
Oh I hope for him that he soon is over this bout again. you are a good mommy.
