The fetch is also called the fylgia, did see Miss Hildie out of the corner of my eye yesterday afternoon, just before the clinic called to say she was back from the crematorium.
Teia has been more of a love bug and she walks around the house a little more, think she's expecting to see Hildie.
We're taking it one day at a time, still some tears when we see a Hildie thing around. 12 1/2 years of memories helps ease the ache a bit.
Just astonished that the same illness got her and Kessie. According to some of my research on lymphoma, it may have been a congenital tendency to develop the condition.
Must have been a recessive gene in their momma and daddy cat. Their momma, Percy, made it to 23 years.
How are you doing , PIP? .....and how is Teia doing in Hildie's absence?
You are not a stranger to lose, but Teia?
Sincerely,
CML
LOL! I believe you ZQ! and that "comforting" feeling is what really counts!
I am a Sci-Fi freak also, so I can relate anything in life to a Horror Movie if I try. Problem is, I should stop TRYING, Eh!
When the light hit Kessie's eyes (Hildie's older sister) just right, her right eye looked blue and her left looked red.
You know how, if the light hits a cat's eyes a certain way, the eyes get that certain glow??
I wish you could actually see my pics! They are not scary at all! They aren't that creepy stuff you see on horror flicks!! LOL
WOooooH!!!!!
Red glowing eyes ?????? That would really freak me out! I guess I am just not as evolved as you ZQ. I mean I love the Cheshire cat--it is my avatar on some forums- but weren't they YELLOW?? Red plays out like the Amityville Horror, at least for me.
Good for you girlfriend for being ok with that. LOL! I usually always agree with you way of looking at things, but not red Eyes LOOKING at me.
But you do get it!! Our babies are always near!
I know for a fact that our lost babies are around us!! I have taken some regular pictures and have had some cat eyes show up in several pics!! They were glowing red-like the Cheshire cat grin, but it was the eyes. It was very comforting.
What a Wonderful Spiritual source! It must bring you a great deal of comfort. A Fetch.... I will have to remember that!
I know what you mean.
Actually, I "see" cats in the house that we are not feeding. I'm sure Teia sees them, too.
In my faith we have a concept of the family having a Fetch, essentially an animal spirit, which is part of the good energy surrounding the home. I've long know that our Fetch is a little clan made up of the beloved kitties who have shared our lives. That clan just got a little bigger.
Call me crazy, Pip!!!.....but I am a true believer in our beloved pets never leaving us. Sometimes you will feel a little brush against your arm or leg, or a wisp of air on our face....and you will know one of your beloved pets are there for a visit.
I have lost beloved pets and had another show up with the same habits... How does one explain that, except that their essence is only transferred into another beautiful creature. So be on the lookout for those little "Signs
Hildie and the gang are still all around you. Let's face it they would never want to leave a wonderful loving home like yours, they are still hanging out.
I know , you are wondering if I am in psychiatric care, LOL! No just think with the purity of a childs mind sometimes. Try it ...it will always bring you comfort and peace.
My sincere sympathy,
CML
RIP little sweetie. Love Rhea, Stardust and Zelda
I'm so sorry to hear this news. I was really hoping Ms Hildie would pull through. I know how hard you tried to help her get better. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Our hearts are breaking for you and Anita.
Hugs
ZQ
RIP little girl, you were well loved and will be deeply missed...♥
Now I'm really crying. It never seems 'final' until the actual words are written. Again, Pip, I am so very sorry for your loss. (((Hugs)))
Thank you all.
Hildiekatt no longer battles in this life. She said her goodbyes to us yesterday when she roused. Today, we could see the light had gone out of her eyes, though her little body was still breathing.
The nice folks at the clinic had given her a bath to make her pretty for our last visit, had her wrapped in a blanket with a warm water bottle.
We sat with her for a little, but she was not there anymore. Her breathing was more and more laboered, so we had the vet do the Final Act of Kindness.
She went swiftly and quietly, will be cremated and returned to us. She will rest in the urn, which contains her sister...Silver Kestrel the Ransacker and Hildiekatt Halfshadow the Harrier together again....running around with Tuna Cat, Queen Victoria Grey, Calamity Jane Grey, April Dancer, Cerridwen Blythe and Chesapeake Bandylegs the Hunter.
We'll see how Teia does as a solo cat, will likely adopt another older kitty who is used to other cats after awhile.
AWWWWW, Pip!
So very sorry to hear this news. I am new here , but was looking thru your photo album and it sure seems Ms Hildie, as well as the rest of your "Cat PacK" enjoy a really wonderful life. When it is their time to go you can rest assured they know they lived with Love and Caring.
My prayers go out to you and your family. Enjoy your time over the rainbow bridge, Hildie, until the rest of your families time comes.
Sincerely,
CML
Hello my friend. God, but I was so afraid to read this. I am deeply, deeply sorry.
RIP beautiful, gentle Hildie. Your sisters at the Rainbow Bridge will be waiting with open paws to show you the way.
Hugs to you and Anita, Pip. *sniff*
Awww no Pip I am so very sorry to read this, you tried yr hardest to do everything possible and Hildie knows you did. Her little body just can't rebound and she's telling you she's ready.
Bless you all during this difficult journey my heart goes with you both and of course wth Miss Hildie
Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to have to let Hildie go over the Rainbow. The treatments are not working (got woke up by a call from Dr Ingraham, the overnight vet). They will do palliative care until we can get there this afternoon. Can't get there earlier, have to get new tires as my two front one have cracked sidewalls.
Thanks for checking in, Pip. I've been obsessively checking for your update. It sounds like all we can do is to continue to pray and hope for the best. I know you and Anita will make the right decision at the right time should it come to that. Jade and I sending positive vibes...
