Been out w/computer issues. You may remember we'd found that tiny wee kit behind the bike shop some time ago-she's now off kitten milk and wants to eat "big cat food" so I have to trick her to get her to eat her kitten crunchies. We suspect she was a runt that was rejected as 2 more who look just like her turned up but seemed to be thriving and more independent and watched by their mom. Scout now rules the roost-she no longer stays in her carrier, I'm trying to break her of trying to ride Bob like a donkey which he HATES, but I chalk this up to a life saved!!! Ed said the one kit who looks like Scout has one bright red arm and it made me think of Hellboy. There's a red tom that's about so I'm guessing who the papa is...Scout's mostly black w/white toe shoes in fr, white go go boots in back, blotches of calico all over and an inverted calico v over her eyes and onl her chin is white so she looks like an orca. She's the climbingest cat we've ever seen!!! I made a sisal rope thing for her to climb that she likes. All my others doing just fine-hope all is well w/everyone!!

I built a cat tree myself with some extra wood pieces and carpet.  The carpet place even gave me some random pieces they couldn't use from old installs.  :)

The top wood superfice is covered with EVA , the holes were used for climbing things and/or let open for then to play with and theres sisal rope around the pvc tube that makes the reel.
In fact, I do have to substitute that hope but I always forget about :-)

Sounds great, my boys would love it, they were this kind of "climbing" kids.
Hope they can be having one somewhere, if they still like climbing now that they are - I hope- fully grow- up cats ...
Since I dont have much place for big stuff here, my girls have a NET cable empty Reel as a cat toy,

Anyone have any budget-friendly ideas for climbing toys for my "spidermonkey" kit? One friend suggested getting a surplus tube from a carpet place. covering it w/surplus carpet et voila, floor to ceiling climber at a great price so I can pass that idea on. I bought some sisal rope, braided it and tucked toys w/bells etc into it as well as knots here and there for her-she's just getting the idea it's a climber toy, not a smacker toy.I made this w/supplies from Home Depot for under $10.
